Bourgogne Pinot Noir Domaine de la Tour Bajole
This estate was named after the oldest house in Couches, the Tour Bajole. Built in the 12th century as a monastery, it was used 200 years later as the law courts of the Royal Provost. The name "Tour Bajole" comes from "Bazola", the name of the Templar who had the tower built. Domaine de la Tour Bajole is an Albert Bichot exclusivity. The estate’s nearly 10 ha (24 acres) of vines are located around Couches, just south of the Côte de Beaune.
The nose is fruity with a hint of menthol and just a touch of spice. The palate is well structured with pleasing and measured consistency. Smooth notes of oak.
The ideal accompaniment to roasted or grilled meats, poultry, vegetables and mild cheeses.
